Hotel Ivy's new event sapce
Last week the Hotel Ivy swung open the doors of the Grand Studio, its brand new event space, after a six-week, million-dollar renovation.
The 5,206-square-foot room, accommodating 100 people seated and 200 for a cocktail reception, plunges your guests into a mystical world from the moment they step off the elevator. Just before they reach the Grand Studio, a long gallery greets guests with a custom-made, 11.5-by 9-foot ceramic mosaic, imported from the UK. At the end of a trail of lights on the custom Axminster carpet is the Grand Studio itself. Inside the space shines a $50,000 feature wall with ornate, backlit carvings, completing the intimate, otherworldly ambiance.
Unsurprisingly, the Ivy is already booking weddings for its new event space. Betsy Bartholomew, the Ivy’s director of sales and marketing, says this space was designed specifically with social gatherings in mind, and it leaves plenty of room for any couple’s individual expression. “It really lends itself to whatever palette you’re wanting for your event,” she says. “It’s customizable that way.” Plus, it doesn’t hurt to have easy access to the Ivy’s newly renovated penthouse suite.
