Degree: Master of science in physician assistant studies from Augsburg College
Current Title: Assistant professor in the academic phase of the Augsburg physician assistant program
On the decision to go back to school: “I had always known I wanted to do a clinical degree, and the more research I did about options in the medical field, I realized the physician assistant profession was the right fit for me. It’s focused on working as part of a team. PAs make a commitment to lifelong learning, training, and focus on working in primary care.”
On choosing Augsburg College: “I knew I wanted to train to be a PA in Minnesota and eventually practice and serve in the state. I chose Augsburg for the strong history of the PA program, the program’s focus on training PAs to work in underserved areas and in primary care, and the college’s overall mission and vision.”
Advice for other continuing education students: “Just take the leap! It took me three years to finally commit to going back to graduate school, and now I cannot imagine doing anything else.”
