Husband and wife-owned LynLake store Kisa Boutique popped up this week in downtown Minneapolis—setting up shop on the skyway level of RBC Plaza (formerly the Neiman Marcus side of Gaviidae Common). The space is familiar, but it's even lonelier than when Len Druskin was in it. Signs of life? Sprout Salad recently opened a few doors down, and there's some construction underway for a non-retail business going into another vacant storefront. RBC probably should be paying Kisa to be there for the next two months. But like many retailers before them, Emily and Caglar Kisa see promise in our skyways: thousands of downtown workers and dwellers looking to shop without braving the cold. Pay them a visit on your next salad run. They kept the space spare and focused, with a few appealing racks filled with affordably priced apparel—shirt dresses, tunics, sweaters, trousers, and more.
Note: Kisa's LynLake store is closed for remodeling for the next two weeks.
