Ladies, it’s time to walk the walk….in Red Wing Heritage boots designed just for us. The new (long overdue!) Red Wing Heritage Women’s collection launches today, Sept. 6. Hazel & Rose, one of three Twin Cities’ stores to carry the line, will celebrate with a launch event on Saturday, Sept. 10.
“Red Wings are a good fit for Hazel & Rose first and foremost because they embody quality craftsmanship that lasts,” says Emma Olson, owner of the boutique dedicated to sustainable and ethical fashion. “I choose pieces and brands that tell a story for Hazel & Rose, and that spirit of celebrating independent women comes through in this new collection.”
Red Wing has been aware of its female fans for some time: the #redwingwomen hashtag on social media; a significant number of sales in the smallest men’s sizes. But while women like the look of classic work boots, and appreciate the heritage of Red Wing Shoes, they wanted a boot all their own. The women’s collection—which includes a classic work boot, a taller style, and a more feminine bootie—features iconic details like Goodyear welting, but the boots are lighter than the men's, with a more flexible sole and extra cushioning.

“I think the new collection does a fantastic job of balancing classic styles and modern takes on classics that are made for women,” Olson says. “It will appeal to those who've shopped the men's styles as well as those who simply appreciate a well-made boot.”
The Red Wing Heritage launch party at Hazel & Rose in the Broadway Building, 945 Broadway St. N.E., takes place Saturday, Sept. 10 from noon to 4 p.m. The entire women’s shoe collection will be available, along with the first look at new pieces from Twin Cities-based Winsome Goods and Hackwith Design House, which will debut plus sizes for fall. Meet the designers, and try on fall lip colors and lashes by Brow Chic. There will be food, drink, and giveaways.
The Red Wing women’s collection is also available at N’etc at 50th & France and Brightwater Clothing & Gear in Excelsior.
