Lest there be any chance that winning a Minnesota Fashion Award for top style blog would go to my head, I couldn't find the stairs to get on stage. First award of the night. High heels. Tight dress. Total shock. There I stood, spotlights on me. A man in the front row kindly offered a hand, but what I needed was a lift. And so, this "style" blogger literally crawled on stage to accept her award. If it had happened to Carrie Bradshaw, you wouldn't have believed it possible. The next moments are a blur, but what I might have said, had I not just exposed inappropriate bits before a packed ballroom of beautiful people, is that I am never short on things to write about, and that is not just because I'm a loudmouth. This blog is only as lively as the retailers and designers and product makers that live and work here in the Twin Cities. They keep me constantly inspired, energized, and on my toes. When not on my knees.
And should I ever again be fortunate enough to be nominated for an award, I will make sure I know where the stairs are before the show begins.
Congrats to all the talented nominees—writers, stylists, fashion designers, models, and make up artists among us—and to Dan Vargas, the producer of Rumble on the Runway/Minnesota Fashion Awards, for creating a new way to celebrate and honor the Twin Cities' vibrant fashion community.
