Kate Spade will open a store at Mall of America, in part of the former Rainforest Cafe space. This is a second Twin Cities location for the popular brand, which also has a store at Galleria in Edina.
The store will bit situated on the corner of the southeast court, which has been a challenge to repurpose since Bloomingdale's departure in 2012. L.L. Bean opened a large store at the back of the court late last year, but there's still space for a couple of stores on the first level, as well as openings on the second floor.
Meanwhile, Rainforest Cafe is building a new restaurant on the third floor, south side, that is scheduled to open in the fall.
