Q: Do I need to bring my own equipment?
A: No, University of Minnesota Recreation and Wellness Center will be providing all equipment for classes, including mats.
Q: What clothes should I wear?
A: Dress like you would for a workout; comfortable pants, a top and sneakers. We recommend a light jacket to keep warm while you cool down in between classes and seminars.
Q: What time should I arrive?
A: Our first class/seminar will kick off at 8:00am. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before to get checked in and secure your spot in class.
Q: What if I come early for the outdoor run?
A: You can show up 15 minutes before 8am for the outdoor run. JC will be leading this 5k run at 8am as another class option. We will be meeting in the lobby by the front entrance.
Q: Do I have to plan on being there the whole time? Or, can I come anytime?
A: You don’t need to stay for the whole time, but this is a chance to try something new, learn something new and try new products. With all the new booths, classes and seminars this year there is so much to do. Along with all this, there will be hourly performances by Pros of the Rope that you won’t want to miss! You can show up to the event at any time.
What is the schedule?
A: Every class and seminar will last 45 minutes max. There is a 15-minute window in between sessions to allow for travel time between rooms or floors. The expo will be open from 8am-2pm.
Q: Can I buy tickets at the door/Rec Center?
A: Yes, you may buy tickets on-site with a credit card. We will have Mpls.St.Paul staff members assisting with tickets and check-in upon arrival.
Q: Where do I go to check in?
A: Just inside the first-floor entrance of the Rec and Wellness Center, there will be a check in table with signs for Mpls.St.Paul Magazine’s Fit Fest. If you have any questions, Mpls.St.Paul support staff will be in black t-shirts and will be happy to help!
Q: Can I get water on-site?
A: There are drinking fountains on-site. We recommend you bring a reusable water bottle to refill throughout the day to minimize plastic waste.
Q: What’s in the expo space?
A: There are a wide range of items in the expo space ranging from food and beverage, to gym and retail. There will be items to sample, items to buy and products to try.
Q: Do we need to sign up/register for classes or seminars prior to the event?
A: No, there is no advance registration for classes or seminars. These are both first come, first served.
Q: Is there somewhere I can put my winter gear (boots, coat, etc.)?
A: Yes, at check in you will receive quarters for locker usage as well as boot bags to keep your things clean while you store them.
Q: What do I need to bring to check in?
A: Valid photo I.D. (driver’s license, student I.D.)
