From the Restaurant
Ask any Minnesotan where to go for lobster and they will all give you the same answer. Smack Shack is a casual, coastal restaurant known for their killer lobster rolls with locations in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis and now in Bloomington. Getting their start in 2010 as a food truck serving lobster rolls, owner Josh Thoma had a great recipe and believed that the appetite for fresh lobster in the Twin Cities was as strong as any coastal city. It wasn’t long before Smack Shack moved in to the kitchen at the now famous, 1029 Bar in Northeast Minneapolis. After being featured on Food Network’s “Diner’s, Drive-Ins and Dives” fresh lobster rolls and the liquid gold that is the lobster mac n cheese were flying out of the kitchen. Now with locations throughout the Twin Cities, Smack Shack continues to be adored by fans and food critics as one of Minnesota’s best.
