Ryan W. Hess, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. Dr. Hess’ practice focuses on treatment of a wide range of injuries and conditions affecting the knee, shoulder and elbow in patients of all ages. Dr. Hess has a particular interest in shoulder and elbow injuries in the overhead athlete (such as baseball/softball, volleyball and tennis players), shoulder instability, rotator cuff injuries and knee ligament and cartilage injuries.
Dr. Hess is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN as well as the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He completed his residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Dr. Hess also completed a sports medicine fellowship with renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, FL. Dr. Hess has presented his research at several national meetings and participates as teaching faculty at an annual course instructing orthopedic residents learning arthroscopic surgery. He sees patients at TCO’s Maple Grove, Minnetonka and Robbinsdale locations.
