Whether you’re a fa-la-la fanatic who starts playing Christmas music in July, or you're in complete denial about how the year is moving at warp speed, the holidays are coming and it’s time to start thinking about gifts.
This holiday season, Bryant-Lake Bowl, Red Stag Supperclub, Barbette, Pat’s Tap, Gigi’s Cafe, Tiny Diner, Bread & Pickle and The Third Bird are giving you a choice when you purchase a gift card.
You get to decide if you’d like to GIVE 20 percent of your gift card purchase to a selected non-profit, or RECEIVE 20 percent of your purchase in a gift card for yourself.
You can show some local love by gifting a special night out to one for your favorite restaurants, showing you not only have good taste, but you also want to help the community.
Our chosen non-profits include local community causes relating to hunger, social justice, the arts, environment and sustainability, and include Joyce Uptown Food Shelf, Second Harvest Heartland, East Side Neighborhood Services Senior Food Shelf, and Sabathani Community Center.
And of course it’s cool if you use the 20 percent toward an extra gift card for yourself! After all, it is the holidays. But it’s nice to think that in the spirit of giving, we can do charitable work together without having to spend another dime. Gift cards can be purchased in person, via phone, or online.
