Q:I love the chic feeling of my loft but want a little more warmth. What do you recommend?

A. Designing with draperies, area rugs, and comfortable upholstered furnishings goes a long way toward warming up a loft. Add pillows and throws for an especially cozy look and feel. Also plan on including at least one or two different types of finishes, such as wood, stone, tile, or architectural glass. A few well placed candles also will add a warm dimension to your evening lighting scheme. Then finish it all off with your favorite books and works of art.
