“It’s the day every girl dreams about from the time she is five years old.” True, however, when you are five, all you can think about is how awesome it is to get to wear a beautiful princess dress and tiara, kiss a cute boy, have a party with all of your friends, AND get all the presents you actually wished for! Who wouldn’t like that?! Actually, now that I am writing that, it does sound pretty awesome—and let’s be honest—it is. However, how do you enjoy the process leading up to that special day?
I ask this because I have had numerous friends who I have talked to in the week(s) leading up to their wedding look me dead in the eye and say “I can’t wait for this to just be done!! When you get married—just elope!”
POP! (That is the sound of my balloon of hope and excitement for wedding planning bursting.) OK, I am being dramatic, but let’s be honest, there can be some stresses in the process, so my question is: How do you actually take time to breathe and enjoy planning that event? After all, the grand prize (the groom), is a pretty awesome parting gift once the day has come to a close.
So what can I offer you? Come on this fun ride with me! Share your ideas and stories with me! For those of you that are planning, hopefully I can provide some insight and humor as well as comparable decision-making dilemmas that let you relate to the joys and craziness of planning that “day you’ve dreamed about since you were five!”
