It’s been two weeks since the wedding. Two weeks of throwing our laundry in the same hamper, staying up late to watch House of Cards, making sloppy joes for dinner, and discussing what time the alarm should be set for. Everything that’s usually considered so mundane suddenly seems so special. Knowing we’re in this for life makes me see everything through a different lens. Everything is exciting, everything is new, and I just can’t help but smile about the fact that Nate is now my husband and I am his wife!
The wedding day went so unbelievably quickly. I figured it would, but it really flew by. It went so fast that I don’t even have a continuous memory of the day. My memories are very spotty—I have some amazingly vivid memories and some things I can’t recall no matter how hard I try. I’m hoping that the photos from the day help to fill the holes and remind me of all the people that were there and all the things that happened.
Only a few miniscule details didn’t go as planned, but they weren’t anything to give a second thought to. Somehow, miraculously, the day went 99.9 percent perfectly. The dress didn’t fall off, the photographer didn’t get the flu, my dad didn’t forget me when he walked down the aisle, the caterer didn’t forget the wedding date, the DJ didn’t just play the Backstreet Boys, and the hotel didn’t give our room away to anyone else. These were all very real nightmares I had leading up to the wedding. (Seriously, my dreams got pretty messed up as the wedding drew closer.)
The perfect day couldn’t have happened without the help of some pretty perfect people, and I'd be selfish if I kept this highly valuable information to myself. I can’t say I’d do everything exactly the same if I did it all over again, but the below is a list of the vendors I’d certainly want to work with again and again. So, as I sign off this last post in my engagement + wedding series, I wish every other Twin Cities bride all the best and I am hopeful that there can be many, many more 99.9 percent perfect weddings. Now, here’s to having a 99.9 percent perfect marriage. Cheers!
