Deborah Wright, cake designer and operator of White Lace Cakes, is bringing new meaning to the word ‘cupcake’ with the introduction of the newest trend in custom cakes—Vintage Teacup Cakes.
Wright describes her latest creation as "an original work of art that just so happens to be edible." These mini-cakelets are the perfect treat for your bridal shower. On trend, and on taste . . . literally, these petite morsels of goodness can be customized any way you wish. Your choice of one of the 26 cake flavors, including, almond amaretto, raspberry swirl, and pistachio-cardamon, is paired with a buttercream filling, iced with fondant or chocolate Ganache, and then elaborately decorated. The best part, they’re served in an actual vintage teacup and saucer that your guests can take home. And nothing says classy like a dainty teacup.
Wright has observed that her Teacup cakes are becoming fashionable and are quite the hit among her soon-to-be-wed customers. Trends in the bridal industry are "shifting toward refinement," says Wright. "Vintage and romantic themes and colors," that are still glamorous, "but with a more elegant and sophisticated air" are perfectly represented in the vintage element of her Teacup cakes.
These adorable cakelets look almost too pretty to eat . . . almost. Pinkies up, ladies.
