From save-the-dates to place cards, wedding stationery is an important part of your big day. A wedding invitation is the first detail guests become acquainted with and helps set the tone for what is to come. If you are a bride seeking personalized papers with lots of details, then look no further than laser cut wedding invitations. The invitations can be custom-made into any pattern your little heart desires (damask, lace, and floral) and are the perfect way to add a personal touch to your paper suite; think lace patterns from your gown or a floral from your wedding day flowers.
Laser invitations are a newer trend on the stationery market. As Sarah Glad from A Milestone Paper Co. explains, “Laser cut invitations go hand in hand with what we are seeing as the trend today, people wanting their invitations to be really personal.” The endless design possibilities have brides pouring over monograms and unique patterns to make a mark on their special day.
The laser cut technique superbly captures a variety of design elements: all-over vintage patterns, modern monograms, silhouettes, and romantic whimsy. “One of my favorite projects was one with a couple who travels a lot," says Glad. "They sent me photos of 12 different locations they traveled around the world. I did custom sketches of landmarks from their travels and had the images laser cut from them. It was really making something so reflective of the couple and honoring their lives together.”
When we asked how laser cut prices compare to other invitations, we were not surprised by the answer; they come at a cost. “In my opinion you get a lot of impact for not a huge difference in price,” says Glad. While the cutting process adds to the cost of the invitation it is typically paired with a less expensive print (which helps balance the price) to keep the emphasis on the elaborate design. Laser cut invitations are for “couples who want to incorporate personality in their [invitation] style,” says Glad. If this sounds like you, then laser cut wedding invitations are a perfect match.
