The Unveiled Wedding Event is this weekend at the Minneapolis Convention Center, which means it's time for you to grab you #squad and go in search of the perfect vendors of your big day. We'll be there, doling out advice on trends and hot topics in the wedding world, so be sure to stop by our booth and pick up a free magazine. (Also, like this post for a chance to win free tickets!)
It's easy to feel overwhelmed at a wedding event, so we sat down with The Wedding Guys, the purveyors of this event, to help get an idea of how to make it a manageable and memorable day. Here are four things to consider to help get your ready for Sunday afternoon.
1. Know your budget.
Having an idea of what you can spend will help you determine which vendors are in your budget. Also, several vendors have special offerings at the event, so if you fall in love and are ready to book, you may want to bring your checkbook to take advantage of their wedding show discount. (Insider tip: Many of these offers continue for a short while after the event is over, so don't feel pressure to sign on the dotted line right away.)
2. Do vendor research ahead of time.
Here's a list of the professionals who will be at the show, so do your homework and make a list of which vendors you're interested in meeting. With a plan of attack in hand, you'll feel far less overwhelmed by the amount of vendors you need to meet.
3. Bring pictures of your wedding inspiration.
Providing inspiration to potential vendors helps you see if they understand your vision. "You don't want to copy other weddings, but this will help the professionals determine your likes and dislikes, and above all allow them to see the vision of the wedding you want to create," says Ellaina Henke, operations manager for the event.
4. Create your tracking profile.
There's a favorite feature on theweddingguys.com, where you can mark vendors that you talked with for later reference. Create your profile in advance so you'll be able to start tracking the minute you hit the showroom floor. It's an easy way to keep tabs on who you liked so when it comes time to make decisions you're not starting from scratch.
***Don't forget to have fun! This is an exciting time in your life, so just enjoy the treats and attention and worry about the decisions later!
