by Sydney Berry Hindu tradition deems rain on your wedding day good luck—a sign of cleansing, growth, and prosperity. For Brian and Melissa Meyers, the two-and-a-half inch downpour on their big day was, indeed, prosperous. As participants of Bergstrom Jeweler’s Wedding Showers promotion, Brian completed a registration that put him up for a $5,000 refund on his wife's engagement ring if it rained more than one inch on their wedding day. Sure enough, the precipitation measured by the National Weather Service at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport came in at exactly 2.63 inches on July 13. While the couple didn’t hope for rain, it didn’t (at least figuratively) cast a shadow on their big day. “It honestly wasn’t something we expected to win, so it was a nice surprise,” says Brian. And he was just as pleased with Bergstrom. “The people are very professional and helpful, and there weren’t any tricks for winning the prize,” he says. “I’ve recommended them to several other people already.” Talk about a generous wedding gift for the newlyweds!
