New-ish Minneapolis bridal salon, The White Room, has a brand-new workspace downtown. Although Anne McNulty and Carmen Duerr officially began servicing brides in an Uptown studio this past January, last week marked the grand opening of their gorgeous Sexton building office.
Hardwood floors and brick walls set the stage for their racks of “unique and edgy” gowns, most of which are priced between $3,000 and $6,000. Carrying the lines of Yolan Cris, Johanna Johnson, Houghton Bride, and Rosa Clara, among others, McNulty and Duerr hope to set themselves apart in the Twin Cities bridal market by offering an unmatched personal appointment experience and catering to what local brides are craving.
Right now, that’s intentional imperfection. “Patterns that only run down one side of the gown or shoulder beading that isn’t symmetric are really trendy,” explains Duerr, who has been a seamstress and dressmaker for more than 20 years. “Brides aren’t as picky about matching."
