Last Friday, Tara LaTour debuted her new bridal collection at l’atelier couture’s North Loop space. The greenery hanging around the space, combined with flowers suspended from the ceiling (all done by Ashley Fox Designs), created a spring-like atmosphere—and the perfect setting for a fresh collection. LaTour introduced her work before the show began, noting that the line was inspired by both a Mumford & Sons song, and her family’s love and support (two dresses were named after each of her grandfathers). The dresses themselves were true to LaTour’s aesthetic: strong, flattering construction made with elegant and intriguing fabrics. Exposed zippers, keyhole backs, effortless shapes, innovative hemlines, and a smattering of bold colors and details (bralettes and cropped silhouettes!) walked the runway, with lots of “oohs” and “aahs” to boot.
