If you’re contemplating a Twin Cities wedding, you’ve got to check out Meet Minneapolis’s wedding-planning service. With more than 500 partners in the area, they connect brides and grooms with everything they need for their big day, from hotels and restaurants to florists and photographers—and they do it all for free.
Here’s how it works: Interested couples go online and fill out a form with some basic wedding information. Once resident wedding expert Janet Elkins reviews your application, she contacts hotels and banquet facilities, which then compete for your business. All you have to do is choose.
With more than 6,000 weddings under their belt over the past 15 years, it’s safe to say Janet and her team know their way around town. “Janet’s good at making suggestions that she thinks will fit the things couples are looking for,” says Meet Minneapolis’s media and communications manager Kristen Montag. “She listens to the kind of experience they hope to have for their wedding and can help with anything involved in the process."
So whether you’re in need of bouquets for you and your ladies, a salon for the pre-wedding prep and relaxation, or some welcome bags for out-of-town guests, Meet Minneapolis is a great cost-saving alternative to a traditional wedding planner for a bride who just needs a little extra support.
