A woman starts planning her wedding day long before the diamond is slipped on her finger. Girls spend afternoons tearing pictures out of wedding magazines, saving pieces from weddings past, conducting ceremonies with stuffed animals, and dreaming of the perfect dress, place, and guy. Once you've found the latter and answered him yes, it's finally time to turn all of your ideas into action and begin the exciting (and at times stressful) process of planning the big day. If you’re looking to avoid the stress of fighting crowds and the chaos at some wedding fairs that happen only a few times year, The Event Gallery is the perfect place for you. Gallery director Jenna Rogers talked with Aisle File about soon-to-be-opened business, what sets it apart, and what the gallery hopes to bring vendors and event planners alike.
How it works: Upon entering the renovated warehouse on Bryant that is home to the gallery (no appointment needed), guests are welcomed by a staff member and are set up with the Event Gallery's application software, which can be accessed either through your smart phone or a tablet provided for you. Once logged-in, think "art gallery meets shopping mall" as you head up the stairs into event planning heaven: the showroom. Peruse the space at your own pace and get inspired by creative booths displaying what local vendors have to offer, and when something catches your eye just click on the vendor through the application and the software will pull up all the necessary information about the business. Simultaneously, once you click on a vendor, the software will send them a lead with your information so they can follow-up with you. Among those on the vendor list so far include Lancer Catering, Premier Catering, Five EVENT Center, The Sheraton Minneapolis Midtown Hotel, Violet’s Flowers, Ling Photography, Donae Cotton Photography, Ivy Spa Club, The Fizzy Artist, Mobile Photo Wall, Studio Laguna Photography, and The Cake Diva. "We're strategically thinking of who we want in our space. We're focusing on different styles and price points across vendors so we're kind of hitting all brides or event types," says Rogers.
To keep your creative juices flowing, the gallery will also host special events and classes featuring specific vendors, which will allow brides to meet the vendors behind-the-booths, who won’t typically be there during business hours. Head to the Event Gallery's Facebook page for more details!
