Just as we girls dream of meeting the perfect match and love at first sight, Paperista owner and designer Antoinette Ramos held the same fantasy for her custom stationery boutique. This spring, she found her dream digs in a vacated shop at 50th & France. She'll open for business in the posh shopping district July 9. "It's that dreamy boutique area that I've always wanted," Ramos says.
Located in the remodeled Semple Mansion on Franklin Avenue since 2010, Ramos jumped at the 50th & France opening when she found it in April. Originally a California girl, Ramos says she's thrilled to move into an area that's known as a "bridal destination" and features an outdoor shopping experience. "That's how we shop [in California]," Ramos says. "We shop outdoors."
At the new location, Ramos and her staff are expanding their product lines as well, hoping to attract a bevy of new customers. Paperista still will offer their high-quality custom wedding invitations, but Ramos is also adding services for "everything you can think of for the host entertaining guests." This includes tabletop design and party invitations for festivities such as birthday parties and baby showers.
To fit in with the new window-shopping, outdoor crowd, Paperista will shift from appointments to more walk-in opportunities.
"We want to be trendsetters in the world of paper, and you don't see that a lot," Ramos says. "We think 50th & France is the perfect fit."
Paperista opens its new shop July 9 at 5023 France Ave. S., Mpls., 612-886-3470, paperista.com.
