Twin Cities brides will soon have another designer to consider when it comes to their wedding gowns: Mira Zwillinger.
Thanks to the ladies of l’atelier couture, who spotted Mira's creations on the runways of New York’s Bridal Week last month, the Israeli designer’s line will make its first appearance in Minnesota come December.
One of Mira’s defining characteristics in the 2014/2015 collection, inspired by snowflakes, is her illusion detail. Demonstrated by lighter appliques that “float on the skin, where you can’t tell how it’s there,” as l’atelier owner Amanda Kautt says, illusion necklines and bodices are a huge trend this year, and are a big reason why Israeli designers have been so sought-after in recent years.
Kautt believes it is this “fresher, lighter, airy take on wedding gowns”—in addition to Mira's quality and customization—that local brides will fall in love with. “She builds a form for each and every bride,” Kautt says. “It’s really made for you." lateliercouturebridal.com
