I've had save-the-dates on my mind all week. It's no secret that one of the first things that creeps to the top of your wedding-to-do list (after the venue is picked and the date is set) is the save-the-date. You want your friends and your family to get that date on the calendars stat! And you don't want to have to compete with any of your other newly engaged friends.
I'm a stronger believer that the save-the-date should speak to you and your fiancee as a couple (and at least somewhat correlate to your wedding). If you're doing a traditional reception, find a save-the-date that accentuates elegant affair, yet also speaks to you. Having a fiesta-themed wedding? Make your save-the-date bright and bold like your wedding will be.
One thing that I think is a nice touch on ALL save-the-dates, no matter the style, is a wedding-themed stamp.
Sounds like a mindless little detail, right? But as someone who has a box of noteworthy save-the-dates that have caught my eye, the stamp is always one little touch that I love.
It's easy, affordable, and can be done online at sites such as zazzle.com. I recommend using the personalized stamp on your save-the-date and then a more traditional and elegant stamp on your actual wedding invite.
What do you think about personalized stamps? What do your save-the-dates look like?
