by Taylor Selcke In honor of marriage equality, St. Paul’s historic Landmark Center is offering up free wedding ceremony space on August 1, the day Minnesota's new same-sex marriage law will take effect. Both heterosexual and same-sex couples are welcome to reserve one of the two courtrooms up for grabs on a first-come, first-served basis. [/caption] “We were all just so excited about the new decision for marriage equality in Minnesota, so we wanted to celebrate and make space available,” says Kristin Smith, the programs and marketing manager for Landmark Center. “It was something we always would’ve done, no matter when it happened.” Interested? Smith estimates that they’ll be able to accommodate six to eight ceremonies throughout the day, so reserve your spot ASAP. They’ll provide seating and a bottle of bubbly—all you have to do is bring the officiant and up to 100 of your closest friends. For more information or to reserve a space, call 651-292-3228.
