If you’re on the hunt for a venue space that is equal parts rustic-chic and vintage elegance, you've got to check out D’Amico Catering’s newest venue, Loring Social. Since it was acquired by one of the largest names in Minnesota catering in early 2015, Loring Social has undergone extensive renovations to create a venue perfect for wedding receptions, ceremonies, parties, and corporate events. The 1900s building was formerly the Stutz Bearcat Car Dealership and home to the first car show room in Minneapolis.
Located on Hennepin Avenue across from Loring Park, Loring Social features two spaces, each with their own type of glam. According to Richard D’Amico, the Waverly Room and the Chelsea Room were named after historical New York City hotel properties, since the Loring Park area of Minneapolis reminds him of N.Y.C. SoHo neighborhoods.

Guests enter the venue through the Waverly Room, the smaller of the two spaces. With refurbished gleaming terrazzo marble floors, vintage elevator doors, glass sconces, and a stunning view of the Basilica, the Waverly Room makes a grand statement as a space perfect for a formal reception or dance floor. The Chelsea Room sits on the far side of the building and satisfies any bride’s dream of a warehouse-chic wedding venue. This area showcases exposed brick, vintage chandeliers, and a large glass garage door, which opens to a European-style alleyway behind the building. Guests can take in the night air under twinkling string lights while strolling down the cobblestone paths of the garden.
Both rooms feature a large marble bar, high ceilings, and scattered chandeliers, and are available for joint or separate use. Other features of Loring Social include valet parking, on-site event coordinators, and state-of-the-art technology.
Since completing renovations in 2015, Loring Social is ready for its first year in business. However, 2016 dates are limited, so be sure schedule a tour soon to view this stunning space in person.
