Foodie couples rejoice! Chowgirls Killer Catering is opening a full-service event space in the hip Northeast arts district. The 6,500-square-foot space—dubbed Solar Arts by Chowgirls—is located on the third floor of the Solar Arts Building (home to Indeed Brewing), and is slated to open for all your weddings, receptions, meetings, and corporate events in early 2015.
The venue is just what you’d expect for a modern-chic industrial building. “It’s the whole top floor. It has windows all around, and it’s filled with light. It has oak beams, exposed brick, and really cool details,” says Amy Brown, co-owner of Chowgirls. To transform the space, Brown and her business partner, Heidi Andermack, had a bathroom, bridal suite, catering prep kitchen, bar, and glass-enclosed meeting room added, with a stage for ceremonies coming soon. Obviously, Chowgirls will be behind the catering for all events, promising a menu of award-winning food. Brown says there will also be an increased focus on their downstairs neighbor’s beers behind the bar, plus the other local craft brews and spirits already on their menu.
If you’re interested in the industrial look, great food, and local beer, you might want to act fast—they’re already accepting reservations, and that triple threat makes them a hot commodity.
