Located in outstate Hendricks, this brewery gives a portion of the profits to wildlife conservation. These are the Walleye Chop guys.
Big Wood Brewery

The cheeky Morning Wood coffee stout won Best Beer at the 2011 Autumn Brew Review.
Super serious about Belgian beers, these guys put down the French Horn for a living and started brewing. Now open for free tastings and sales on Fridays from 5:30-7pm.

Borealis Fermentery

This limited production straw bale brewery isn’t open to the public yet, but the 750ml Belgian farmhouse ales are available in the Duluth area.
A farmland brewery that grows its own hops and barley, it throws a weekend long camp out braufest in June and is open for tours every Saturday.

Around since 1874, it’s of the oldest breweries in the state. Many local beers that don’t have a brewery of their own are contract-brewed here.
The newest edition to the Northeast tap scene, Dangerous Man's taproom in the old Northeast Bank Building often fills up fast. Lots of good brews (some more creative than others), like a hemp beer for 4/20. The taproom also has takeout menus from surrounding restaurants such as Element Woodfire Grill and Anchor Fish and Chips.
