At once classic and contemporary, avant-garde and refined, masculine and feminine—black and white in varying textures and tones never goes out of style. When the two stark neutrals are used in combination, texture becomes a focal point and the look of a room (or outfit) changes in every light. While the idea of painting or papering an entire room in black might seem a bit over the top, it actually couldn’t be chicer—the shapes of the furniture and the home’s architectural elements become almost sculptural.
