Why has no one thought of this before? I was cocooned on Catherine Lleras’s table at the new HAUS Salon North Loop. The spa director—and brow whisperer to those who know her from Blowdry! Blowdry Bar—had a flash of brilliance when she introduced HAUS’ Signature Dual Service, a customizable combination of facial and massage, all in one treatment.
Book for 60, 90, or 120 minutes ($135–$235), and decide upon arrival how you want to spend your time. Maybe it’s reflexology followed by an anti-acne facial. Or maybe, like me, you want to pass out for two hours and wake up with glowing skin and limbs like Jell-O. The point is you’ll never have to choose again. And in Lleras’s intuitive hands (she really does have the gift) you’ll feel right at home.
The same could be said for everyone at HAUS. The salon’s original Nicollet Avenue location became a sensation practically overnight. From your mild-mannered co-worker to the mother-of-four next door, chances are if her hair is surprisingly spectacular she gets it done at HAUS.
The salon’s secret is not-so-secret: bring out the best in people. It’s such a seemingly simple philosophy that few salons get right. It’s also the reason why you can step into HAUS’ new lofted North Loop location, with its floor-to-ceiling wrought iron windows and industrial-chic chandeliers, and not feel intimidated. This is what happens when really nice people do really good hair—and nails, waxing, facials, and massage, too. Everybody wins.
