Tory Burch will open its first Minnesota boutique this fall at Galleria in Edina, where outfitting the preppy jet set lifestyle has become a calling card. The 3,200-square-foot store, to be located in Dugo’s former space, will offer a wide assortment of the Tory Burch collection, including ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, jewelry, small leather goods, watches, eyewear and fragrance.
Tory Burch, which has skyrocketed into the billion dollar brand category in little more than a decade of business, is known for its colorful boho-glam style and signature ballet flats and bags with the double-T logo, a coveted symbol of practical luxury. Tory Burch stores embody the brand’s distinct personality, with orange lacquer doors, Travertine basketweave floors, white gesso chandeliers, oak panel walls, and a sophisticated mix of furnishings in a vibrant palette, including teal mohair sofas, blue embroidered pillows and seafoam silk drapes.
The brand is a perfect fit in a center where resort style is always in season, from Kate Spade to J.McLaughlin to Melly, a Lilly Pulitzer signature shop.
Tory Burch accessories are already big sellers at Pumpz, which puts the locally owned shoe and accessories boutique in a similar situation to the one Melly faced when Kate Spade opened at Galleria. Melly gradually phased out of Kate Spade, which had been one of its top selling brands.
A Tory Burch spokeswoman says the decision to open in the Twin Cities follows the success of the brand across the Midwest, with boutiques in Illinois, Missouri, Indiana and Michigan. The store is expected to open in October, same as Vineyard Vines, another exclusive get for the Galleria—and no doubt where you will find the children of Tory's clientele.
