TOMS, the footwear and accessories brand known for its One for One philosophy of donating a product for every item sold, will open its first Minnesota store at Mall of America. TOMS will be located on the first level of the north side expansion, across from the two-level Zara. Both are scheduled to open before the holiday season, along with Anthropologie.
The 2,000-square-foot TOMS store will feature shoes, eyewear and apparel for men and women as well as bags, coffee, and accessories. Founded in 2006 by visionary entrepreneur Blake Mycoskie, TOMS has given more than 60 million pairs of shoes to children in need. Since adding eyewear in 2011, TOMS has provided prescription glasses, medical treatment or sight-saving surgery to 400,000 people in 13 countries. Then in 2014 came TOMS roasting company, which gives back by providing safe water in six countries. Last year, TOMS launched handbags and backpacks, and purchases of those products help support safe birthing practices and aid bullying prevention programs.
