Fast-growing women's specialty retailer Altar'd State will open its first Twin Cities store this fall at Mall of America featuring boho-inspired clothing, accessories, and shoes along with home decor and gifts. Think: Free People meets American Eagle, with a charitable twist—something you don't see a lot of at the mall. Store motto: "Stand out, for good." To that end, every Monday is "Mission Monday," with 10 percent of net proceeds donated to a local non-profit selected by the store's staff. In addition to giving locally in each community where it does business, Altar'd State sponsors children in high risk areas of Peru. The company also promotes volunteerism from within, paying its staff for up to four hours of volunteer work each month.
Mall of America will be the 73rd location for the privately-held Tennessee-based retailer. The MOA store will occupy 7,000 square feet on the first floor, north side. It is expected to open in late October.
