Current location: North Loop, Minneapolis
Day job: Architecture/Design
How does your design career play into your style choices? My day to day is unpredictable: I might be at a construction site, meeting with a client or playing desk jockey. Nice denim, work boots, and a casual blazer can tie that all together. It’s very functional in a way.
What's with the watches? It’s sartorial for me, another detail, an expression of personal style. It’s also fun to have a tiny machine strapped to my wrist! It’s just gears and springs; no batteries, no screen, no software updates. I love that.
Rolex or Timex? It’s complicated . . . Rolex if I could afford one, Timex because I cannot.
“North” means: It’s many things. It’s geographical. “North” is that place at the top of the map. But more than that, it means community to me. It’s a proud celebration of people and of place.
Who’s your style icon: JFK looked effortless in anything and everything, it’s very admirable.
How do you dress to impress for a Valentine’s Day date? Chinos, oxford, knit-tie and a sportcoat are my go-to on date night. It’s casual, easy and smart.
Favorite Minnesota brand? Red Wing Boots. I have a growing collection.
Favorite brewery in town? Day Block. They have an exceptional rotation of taps. The food is also amazing.
What’s a menswear trend that you’re hating right now? Street style sweatpants, it’s pretty silly.
On a Friday night we would find you . . . At the yoga studio or Runyons. Sometimes both on the same night.
Favorite emoji: Speak-no-evil monkey
Describe your style aesthetic in three words: Casually tailored basics
First place you take out-of-towners when they visit: Black Waffle Bar. The Naughty Waffle is amazing.
