A month ago, we took to Instagram to ask our readers for pics of their style—their #citizenstyleMSP. This month, inspired by our MSP Airport Hammermade gift card giveaway, we're coaxing some stylish men we've spotted on their better halves' accounts. First up: @ejoh24.
Name: Eric Johnson
Name of nominating wife: Stephani Bloomquist (@thestephanilee)
Current neighborhood: Northeast Minneapolis
Day Job: Freelance writer
Favorite place to shop in the TC: MartinPatrick 3. It's stylish without trying to be obnoxiously over the top trendy. The selection of accessories like cufflinks and tie bars is by far the best in town.
Four-in-hand or windsor? Four-in-hand because that's how my dad taught me. It doesn't really matter though. If you're more worried about the knot than the tie, you're probably wearing an ugly tie.
Style Icon: I admire Joseph Gordon-Levitt's sense of style. It's classic but modern, and he seems to like a good vest and tie, which I appreciate.
Your wife wants you to throw it away, but you'll never ditch your: Old T-shirts. Most are baseball related, all are priceless.
Watch or iPhone? Watch. How many times has someone said to you, "Hey, that's a nice iPhone you got there."?
Can you pull off a scarf? Hell yes.
Best-dressed baseball team? The Yankees. You can hate the team if you must, but you can't hate the classic pinstripes.
Every man should own a: Great head of hair. Sorry, but it's true. If that fails, get one black vest, one grey vest, a few nice ties, and always roll up your sleeves.
Most regrettable fashion moment? Pretty much everything up until I was about 24.
Yes or no: Matthew McConaughey. Of course. Do people actually say no to this?
Next purchase: Something for winter, sadly. A nice pair of boots or a scarf (told you).
To emoji or not to emoji? I don't trust anyone who refuses to emoji.
