Between scarfing down 7 BILLION hot dogs and cheering on a parade this weekend, Americans will go shopping. And it’s a great weekend to take advantage of deals on everything from summer clothes to travel. Here are the highlights.
Sidewalk + Tent Sales: Retailers want to be outside as much as the rest of us, and when they take to the curb, that usually means a sale. Brightwater Clothing & Gear will offer as much as 70 percent off premium active lifestyle brands such as Patagonia and Barbour. Stephanie’s is going 20 percent off on all spring and summer clothing.
Home Goods: This weekend is the time to get going on home improvement projects. Last year, nearly 30 percent of all Memorial Day weekend sales focused on home items, and this year, it could be even more than that, according to Deal News. Expect 30 to 50 percent off select items at Lowe’s and Home Depot and look for stackable coupons worth as much as 60 percent off at Williams-Sonoma, Sears, and Crate & Barrel.
Get Some Sleep. It’s a great weekend to buy a mattress, Deal News says. Last year Amazon and Sears offered 60 percent off.
Plan Your Vacation. While driving to the cabin, start dreaming about the ocean—deals are expected this weekend on flights and hotels.
The Sales Start Early. Don't care to spend your weekend shopping? You don't have to miss out on the deals. Many sales start early—Pumpz at Galleria is discounting spring and summer styles, starting today, so you can be sandal-ready for the weekend.
