This Valentine’s Day, Bachman’s is introducing its most expensive rose arrangement ever: the $500 “Love You More” bouquet. It features 24, six foot, long stem roses….and tips the scale on the perception that rose prices skyrocket around Feb. 14. But then, it's all about supply and demand, and Bachman's expects to sell 250,000 roses next week.
Of course, Bachman’s has always offered custom “designer’s choice” arrangements priced anywhere from $150 to $1,000, but “Love You More” is the first standard arrangement to hit $500. The next closest is “Wild About You,” featuring heart-shaped roses, black feathers and Italian ruscus, for $259.
The Minneapolis-based florist says the demand is there for a more premium rose arrangement, and long stems, always a sign of luxury, are a particularly big trend right now. But not the only trend: tulips are a popular (and more affordable) alternative to roses—Bachman's expects to sell 100,000 tulips for Valentine's Day.
Pro tip: Order early. With Valentine’s Day on a Sunday this year, consider sending flowers to the office, so they can be enjoyed next week. Could make for a sweeter Valentine weekend!
