Target's new CEO Brian Cornell wants to make the retailer "cool again," and he's not wasting time. On the heels of announcing a holiday collaboration with TOMS, Target today announced a partnership with Faribault Woolen Mill that will include a collection of 100 percent wool scarves, throws, handbags, and cellphone sleeves from $13 to $80 to be sold online only at Target.com, starting Nov. 2.
Since Faribault's mills started spinning again in 2012, the Minnesota-based company has become a symbol of the American Made heritage trend—its blankets and throws coveted by old-timers who remember when Faribault made blankets for the U.S. Army, and their grandchildren, who wear Red Wings and carry Duluth Packs to jobs at tech start ups. Everyone from George Clooney to J.Crew has embraced Faribault.
You don't have to wait until November to score Faribault products for less. This weekend, the mill is hosting its first tent sale featuring thousands of blankets and throws—which typically start at $190 and climb to near $400—for 50 to 85 percent off. The sale takes place Friday, Sept. 26, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Faribault Woolen Mill, 1500 N.W. Second Ave., Faribault, Minn.
