Scout & Molly’s is set to open Saturday at 50th & France. This is the first Twin Cities location for the fast-growing franchise boutique, which has 15 locations nationwide and 60 more in development.
Scout & Molly’s offers more well-known and slightly higher priced contemporary brands than similar franchise chains such as Apricot Lane and Mainstream. Each Scout & Molly’s owner can choose from more than 200 labels. The racks at the new Edina store are loaded with BCBG, Dolce Vita, and hot new blogger-inspired brand Cupcakes & Cashmere, which offers dresses, jackets, and more for less than $150 (this line is popping up all over town, from Melly at Galleria to Merilou in Wayzata).
The new Scout & Molly's takes the place of Le Bon Marche at 4946 France Ave. S. It is locally owned by Linda Writz of Prior Lake, a medical affairs executive for a pharmaceutical company, who has always dreamed of breaking into retail.
In other 50th & France news, husband and wife owned Kisa boutique has opened its third Twin Cities location in the Edina 5-0 building next to Title Nine, offering small-batch European women’s brands and a standout selection of crochet jewelry and Turkish towels.
And Wayzata’s luxury optical shop Art of Optiks is opening a second location at 50th & France, in the former Babette space. It is scheduled to open on June 6.
