The Jul Room is open for the holidays at the American Swedish Institute Museum Store, and it is filled with holiday gifts, traditional and modern. And candy. Squishy, fluffy, colorful Scandinavian candy. In Sweden, many children are allowed to eat sweets only on Saturdays. You can sneak a treat every day the museum is open this season. But first, may I suggest lunch at FIKA. It’s easy to make an afternoon of it, even with the kids. Check the ASI calendar for hands-on events all season. This Sunday, it’s holiday card making from 1 to 3 p.m.
