Mona Williams is cleaning its closet. After two years of specializing in designer consignment, the Northeast boutique will shift its focus to new women's fashion from lines that are hard to find in the Twin Ctiies, such as Baum Und Pferdgarden and Peter Jensen. Owner Patric Richardson says he realized his customers are more interested in finding a special piece than they are in designer labels, and with new merchandise, he will have more control over his inventory.
The mission of Mona Williams will stay the same: "No basics," Richardson says. "Women want those pieces that are unique." That will likely include a smattering of consignment and vintage. "I'm never going to turn down a Chanel jacket," he says.
Mona Williams' progressive sale starts today with 20 to 40 percent off storewide. 18 University Ave. NE, Mpls., 612-331-4493
