A little more than a year after closing at Gaviidae Common, Saks OFF 5th is back in downtown Minneapolis, opening a new outlet store on Thursday, April 21, at City Center. The new store spans two levels and more than 40,000 square feet filled with designer apparel, accessories and footwear for women, men, and children—all at discounted prices.
The new store will look more like the Saks Off 5th at Twin Cities Premium Outlets in Eagan than the former downtown location, which means an open format—more industrial warehouse than traditional department store. But it will be bright, shiny, and new, and it will bring some designer fashion back to Nicollet Mall, where the only retail buzz of late has been about Walgreens selling sushi.
Off 5th’s regular store hours are Mon.-Sat., 9:30a.m.-8pm; Sun., 11a.m. – 6 p.m. The first 50 shoppers to visit the store from Thursday, April 21 to Sunday, April 24 will receive a "sweet treat" that may contain a $100 gift card. City Center, 600 Nicollet Mall
