Cheap and trendy sells, and not just at the big chain stores. Remember when boutiques had a reputation for being more expensive? A new generation of local store owners are proving that you can have the boutique experience on a budget. Leading the pack is Primp, which just announced plans to open its fourth Twin Cities location at 48th & Chicago—a high-potential urban corner that has been ripe for more stores for years. The neighborhood near Lake Nokomis is already home to Turtle Bread, Pumphouse Creamery, Spruce Flowers & Home, Shop in the City and Rue 48 salon, and needs just a few more good stores like Primp to make it a real destination.
Primp, which has stores in St. Paul, White Bear Lake, and Shops at West End, will open in the spring.
