NFL wife Nicole Jennings has opened the doors to a bricks and mortar location in Bloomington for her philanthropic designer consignment venture, The Posh Mommy. She’s been building an online following by selling clothes from her closet, and those of other pro sports wives, as well as gently used children’s apparel. A portion of proceeds goes to a different charity each month and many Posh Mommy sellers make additional donations to causes important to them.
Jennings’ husband Greg is a former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver who now plays for the Miami Dophins. But the family is laying down roots in the Twin Cities—both Jennings’ budding business, and a new home for the couple and their four young children in Edina.
The new Posh Mommy headquarters in an office building not far from Mall of America is definitely a destination, but that’s how Jennings wants it. “This isn’t just about clothes. It’s about spending time finding what makes you feel good about yourself. I call that ‘posh-ativity.’” Jennings plans to host closet organization seminars and offer styling services at The Posh Mommy.
She also wants to entertain groups of girlfriends shopping together. “It’s just like trying on clothes at home—but in a really big closet.”
That closet is filled with designer finds: Yves Saint Laurent dresses, Louis Vuitton sweaters, Prada heels, and Juicy Couture jeans. The Posh Mommy is a great resource for maternity fashion. There is some plus size apparel, as well as an entire room filled with children’s clothing and shoes.
Julie Wells, wife of St. Louis Rams center Scott Wells and Michi Marshall, who is married to New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall, are among Posh Mommy's contributors. Now, for the first time, Jennings says she has wives of Minnesota Timberwolves players and other pro athletes calling her to get involved.
The Posh Mommy is open Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday and Friday by appointment. 7800 Metro Parkway, Suite 104, Bloomington, 952-217-5485
