Colette Jaffe bedding collection at MartinPatrick 3 in the North Loop
Part of the grand plan in the most recent expansion of MartinPatrick 3 was creating space for retail partners. Two new ones make their debut this month. One is a familiar name in the Twin Cities salon industry, and the other is new brand you’re sure to be hearing more about in the world of high end bedding.
Colette Jaffe, a new linen company based in Minneapolis, is now available exclusively at MP3. Jaffe has more than 25 years experience in the luxury bedding business—most of them with Pratesi, the gold-standard in Italian luxury.

“I’ve built businesses for others, I figured why not myself?” says Jaffe, a Minneapolis native who recently returned to town. Her collection, like her shop within MartinPatrick 3, is colorful, and graphic. Jaffe hopes to steer sheet shopping away from thread count, and help consumers understand what really counts: the quality of fabric ("higher thread count just makes it thicker," she says), and the details, like embroidered borders. Jaffe puts the color where it's most impactful. A full queen set retails for around $500. The line also includes towels, robes, and candles.
And Jon Charles is opening a small men’s salon within MartinPatrick 3. Expect a soft opening later this week, along with a new name for the satellite shop. In true MP3 style, the mini salon is decked out with vintage barber shop chairs which Charles had refurbished at the local Bentley dealership.
Jon Charles' MP3 salon will offer men’s cuts starting at $35, beard trims, and “gray reduction” color services. No shaves—because Charles, who has seen many a barber shop come and go, says “no one gets a shave anymore—(home) shaving equipment has gotten so good.” And no blow dries—you’ll have to visit Jon Charles in Uptown or Wayzata for that. The goal is convenience for men—Charles has been working with his new MP3 staff to get their cuts down to 10 minutes. Walk-ins welcome.
"You know what they say," Charles quips. "The man is the new woman."
