Make that, six Primp boutiques. The locally owned "cheap chic" mini-chain (six qualifies, yes?) will open at Woodbury Lakes in October. Owners Michele-Henry Gudmundson and Wesley Uthus tell me they've been looking in the area for a long time, as they know they have many customers that live in Woodbury.
Woodbury Lakes—the outdoor lifestyle center, which has struggled in recent years—was purchased by Ramco-Gerschenson, a real estate company that owns 79 shopping centers, mostly in the midwest and eastern U.S. "They have a great reputation for stunning centers," Gudmundson and Uthus say. "The big draw for us was adding local flair to a development saturated with national chains." Primp will take a high-profile corner space.
