Interior designer Robb Whittlef is closing the retail showroom of HISTORIC Studio to focus on design projects. A closeout sale starts Monday with 50 percent off everything from vases to tables; Asian-influenced dressers to marble statues. Whittlef, who you might remember as co-host of HGTV's Decorating Cents, traveled the world and imported furniture and decor, which he sold primarily to other interior designers. Recently, he opened HISTORIC Studio to the public with regular hours, but the office park location didn't lend itself to the kind of traffic needed to support a store.
So Whittlef, who founded and ran Sticks & Stones home store in Minneapolis for a decade before opening HISTORIC, says he's getting out of retail. "I want to focus on my design projects, and product development," he says. Whittlef has designed product for Restoration Hardware and worked with Target, among other major brands.
The sale at HISTORIC will continue until everything is gone, Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 4950 W. 35th St., St. Louis Park, 952-933-9924, historicstudio.com
