HGTV has taken over the Rotunda at Mall of America for the holidays. Hosts from many of the network's shows will be appearing throughout the busy shopping season. A model home has been set up, next to the soaring Christmas trees, along with a couple of Kodak-worthy winter scenes, and watch for daily light shows in the Rotunda.
Fans should also check out the HGTV Showroom — first floor, south side in the former Ed Hardy space near the Lego store. Find model rooms and products straight off the shows. Lots to see, but unfortunately nothing to buy. (Seems like a miss to me). Still, it's fun to get fabric, paint, and project ideas and tips. This showroom is a first for HGTV (beyond the Highpoint furniture markets). It is temporary, but seems like an obvious year-round branding opportunity for the popular network. He told me at a media preview that he likes keep it light, and bring props, so don't rule out a toilet seat on stage. Then on Saturday, the Kitchen Cousins, Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri, will appear from 2 to 4 p.m. They have a new series premiering on HGTV in January called Cousins on Call. Get the scoop, and their remodeling tips on Shop Girls, 12:30 p.m. Saturday, myTalk107.1 Get the full HGTV Mall of America event calendar.
