Kat Perkins from The Voice, KDWB’s Falen Lambert, Fox 9 anchor Alix Kendall, and WCCO-TV’s Natalie Nyhus are among the media personalities set to model in the fourth annual Minnesota’s Red Dress Collection on March 7 at Lowes Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Each will walk the runway in a custom red dress by a Twin Cities fashion designer. The design talent pool includes Lindsey Hopkins, Emma Berg, Christopher Straub, Ivan Idland, and Laine Sou Weinberg of KOKOON.
Now in its fourth year, the show, a benefit for American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Program, will include a couple of fresh twists: For the first time, men will walk the runway—Mpls.St.Paul Magazine’s very own Todd Walker, also of Fox 9, and Bachelorette contestant/personal trainer Kirk DeWindt. Their custom designs, by Russell Bourrinne and Tim Navarro respectively, will include an “element” of red. (No joker getups, thankfully.)
Red Dress has gotten bigger each year and has continued to sell out. This year, it moves to Saturday night, which creator and co-producer Carly Aplin hopes will encourage attendees to bring a date, make a night of it, and dress up. Just not in red, please—leave that to the runway.
Red Dress is presented by University of Minnesota Heart Care and St. Jude Medical. Tickets for Red Dress are $25 to $125 at reddressmn.com.
