Anthropologie is the first major retailer confirmed for Mall of America's new north wing. And where the boho powerhouse goes, other stores usually follow.
It was actually back in fall of 2014 that I first told you about this plan, and, well, you see how long these retail agreements can take. The mall confirmed today that Anthropologie will open a 10,000-square-foot store near the new north entrance of the mall on the first level—across from the JW Marriott hotel. It is expected to open by holiday 2016.
Anthropologie has four other Twin Cities locations. This will be its first interior mall location in town, although there are several in other markets around the country. The store will feature apparel, accessories, home decor and beauty. Anthropologie joins its sister brands Urban Outfitters and Free People, which already hav a presence at MOA.
The floodgates are now open for MOA to fill two levels of retail space in the north wing, which opened last fall. Stay tuned for another announcement early next week.
